Podcasting at BMCUserWorld 2006

I'm attending the BMCUserWorld 2006 conference in San Francisco, and I'm having some kind of fun trying my hand at video Podcasting. I recorded and produced this video from the hotel room. Our manager Mike Smith posted it up to YouTube. Totally cool.

It's at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEGSU9hAqXo.

This is a big event for BMC Software, and they allowed a small team from Talk.bmc.com (TalkBMC) to do live, on-the-floor reporting of the event, using blogging and Podcasting. This included video Podcasting with distribution on YouTube and Google Video. Very progressive thinking on BMC's part.

We've recorded 14 audio podcasts in 2 days, and they are showing up at http://talk.bmc.com/topics/userworld2006.

The TalkBMC website was created 12 months ago and has grown to more than 20 bloggers from BMC Software, with a weekly Podcast show hosted by Ynema Mangum and produced at TalkingPortraits studios in Austin, Texas.

Blogging, Podcasting and video Podcasting bring you additional visibility for a fraction of the cost of traditional marketing approaches.  And the neat thing about YouTube is - they pay for the bandwidth. You just link to them from your website.

Can you tell I'm excited?
