Get Free 411 Service
Did you know that you can get 411 service for free, zip, nada? I went to snopes.com and found it to be true.
Cell phone companies are charging from $1.00 to almost $4.00 for 411 / information calls, but Jingle Networks is making that obsolete.
When you need to use the 411 / information option, simply dial 1 800 FREE 411 or 1 800 373 3411 and you won't incur any charge at all, except for the minutes required to make the call.
It works on home phones also. And if you want to look up a number while online, go here: http://www.free411.com/searchresults.php?searchtype=2
This morning I wanted to renew my driver's license. I could have done it online, but I wanted to update the photo. After looking up the nearest DPS address in the government pages of the phone book, I drove there. However, no such address existed, and the row of mom-and-pop businesses in that block didn't include a DPS office.
For a moment I was stymied, then I remembered this free service. I called 1 800 FREE 411 on my cell phone and got almost instant help. At first, the program had trouble understanding me when I twice answered Austin Texas after the computer-generated voice asked what city and state I wanted. But it quickly put me through to a human and the man was very helpful, giving me the correct address and phone number of the DPS office I was looking for.
It turns out they had the wrong address as well as the correct one - got it from the phone company, probably - so now they've corrected their records.
